Another gem in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Khajjiar is a tiny hamlet located 26 km from Dalhousie. Thanks to a charming lake, lush-green meadows and a cover of dense forest around the hill station, Dalhousie is referred to as by many travelers as the ‘Mini-Switzerland of India’. What makes this little hill town so special is that there are three ecosystems- lake, forests, and meadows all in a such a small radius for the onlookers to admire.

The best way to explore and discover the sights of Khajjiar is indeed by trekking. From here, travelers can start a trek to various points such as Dalhousie, Chamba, and Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary. As this hill-station is not a popular tourist destination, travelers can book good hotels at a budget price that all offer snow-clad view of the mountains.
