Yet another scenic lake within the Changtang Wildlife Sanctuary, Tso Moriri or the “The Mountain Lake” is a pristine waterbody situated at a dizzying altitude of 4500 metre above sea level. The scenic lake measures about 28 kilometres in length from north to south and then approximately 100 metres in depth. Tso Moriri has been declared as a wetland reserve by the government because a number of rare species of birds like the Bare-Headed Goose, the Great-Crested Grebe, the Brahmin Duck and the Brown-Headed Gull.
