A paradise for travelers who love to camp and trek, Chandratal Lake is often referred to as one of the most beautiful lakes in the mighty Himalayas. The lake has been named so due to this crescent moon-line shape. The crystal blue water surrounded by lush greenery and snow-capped mountains make it an idyllic destination for camping and trekking.

Located at a height of 4,270m and about 6 km from the Kunzum Pass,  the surroundings of Chandratal Lake gets covered by multiple feet of snow in winters around its deep azure waters creating a spectacular scene for photographers. There is a special treat in store for campers who chose to stay the night at Chandratal, as they can expect a spectacular view of the milky way in pitch black darkness of the Spiti Valley.
