Located in the Lahaul and Spiti District, Keylong is the administrative town of the Spiti Valley. Situated right along the Leh-Manali highway, at a distance of merely 126 km from Manali, Keylong is mostly used as an overnight haul by travelers looking to go longer distances. However, the beauty and tranquility of Keylong is quite a spectacle to behold.

Places to worship like the Kardang, Sasur, and Tayul monasteries are all built within a few kilometres of the town of Keylong. For culture travelers, Keylong is home to the Lahaul Festival that is held every year in the month of July with a lot of zeal and fervour. With ample public facilities (which is a rarity in the remote villages of Spiti), Keylong can be welcome sight of urban familiarity for travelers on the fag-end of a long and weary trip.
